This indie publishing thing is a learn as you go. I’ve read several books, and keep exploring all of the vast tools to use for self-publishing. I am publishing through Amazon and love the quality of the prints. My books have all been published in the USA, but are also available through Amazon worldwide.
One of the things I am learning about it how to produce my own covers. I purchased licensing use rights for the image for Blood Thrasher and updated the cover with more of the feel of the novelette that I wanted.
Here is another example from my chess book.
As you can see there is a huge difference between my first cover and the 2nd one in this update. I love the look and feel of the knight with sword drawn in the 2nd one.
If you are an indie trying to publish, don’t be afraid to try things out. Even if you don’t feel like it looks like you want it to just yet, go ahead and do it.
